Shrines take donated items. The permanent ones are the 
Bubble Shrine, the 
Permanent Egg Shrine and the 
Dreaming Fountain. The 
Moon Shrine and the 
Obsidian Altar summon rifts instead.
Each event world had a shrine that boosted its own eggs:
